Jeff Bezos stepped down as the CEO of Amazon earlier this week, and it seems that he is eyeing a future as an NFL owner. It shouldn't come as a surprise as Bezos has more than enough money to buy practically whichever team he likes.
As Bezos has more time on his hands, an investment in an NFL team would be interesting. Even more so, the NFL and the rest of the owners would be thrilled to have Bezos on board and part of the NFL.
Here are five NFL teams Bezos could buy if he wanted to.
5. Dallas Cowboys
This is a big if, but Bezos has the money to tempt Jerry Jones even a little bit. While Jones has remained adamant that he doesn't want to sell the Cowboys, perhaps Bezos makes him an offer he can't refuse.
Jones even said a couple of years ago that he wouldn't sell the team for $10 billion, but the offer Bezos would need to make would have to be astronomical, and it would be hard for Jones to pass on even after saying those comments.
The Cowboys fanbase is growing impatient after years of mediocrity, and maybe Jones finally decides to walk away and sell this team after all. Bezos's current worth is around $184 billion, second only to Elon Musk.
The bottom line is this: it's unlikely, but Bezos could throw a gigantic offer to Jones to buy America's Team.
4. Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins have a bright future ahead of them and their future could get even brighter if they end up making a blockbuster trade for Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Current Dolphins owner Stephen Ross hasn't done much since purchasing the team, but somehow they were one game away from the playoffs in 2020. Ross also got himself in the media circles with some interesting comments regarding former President Donald Trump.
Miami is a huge destination and players would love to play there, just maybe not for Ross.
Enter Bezos, and perhaps more free agents would consider making their way to South Florida.
3. Washington Football Team
The future of the team is most certainly going to remain in Dan Snyder's hands, but once again, Bezos has money to tempt him to make a sale. Either way, a minority stake in the Washington Football Team might be of interest to Bezos.

“Jeff Bezos is gonna be the first name that pops up,” Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio said, via NBC Sports Washington.
Bezos needs something to do, and Washington just won the NFC East, although that isn't saying much, and adding Bezos to this ownership stake might attract some high-profile players and sponsors as well.
2. Cincinnati Bengals
Again, Bezos can make an offer for just about every team in the NFL, but a lot of the owners are staying put and not putting their teams on the market. For Bengals owner Mike Brown he might put some serious thought into selling the team, and even more thought if Bezos makes him an offer.
After all, Brown is 85 years old and may be thinking about settling down and enjoying the remainder of his life. Brown made headlines after missing his first game in nearly 30 years, including preseason, earlier in 2020 against the Cleveland Browns.
The Bengals have the top overall pick from 2020, Joe Burrow, under center for quite some time, and they have young pieces on both sides of the ball that could make this team competitive sooner rather than later.
1. Seattle Seahawks
This makes the most sense for both sides and seems to be the most likely choice for Bezos.
Former Seahawks owner and tech guru Paul Allen passed away a couple of years ago, and ever since the team has been run by his sister, Jody. While Jody Allen has insisted multiple times that the team isn't for sale, her mind might change once Bezos picks up the phone and they start talking numbers.
The Seahawks have a huge fanbase and have been one of the more consistent teams of the past decade, and Bezos has a lot of familiarity and love for the city of Seattle.
The Allen family wants to do what's right after the death of Paul, and Jeff Bezos had been rumored to be interested in the Seahawks multiple times over the past couple of years, and that might increase after he stepped down from his role of CEO.
