Cam Newton fell flat again after a loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night. His poor performances throughout the season have drawn a ton of criticism.
On the daily Locked On NFL Podcast, Your Boy Q and Bo Brack discussed how the Cam Newton era in New England may be coming to an end.
Q: I think they should. I have not really been impressed with Cam Newton other than his game against the Seattle Seahawks early in the season. Was that Week 2? I mean it was early in the season when he threw for almost five hundred yards. He really has not been that good this year. And the thing is about it is that against Seattle, he threw for all those yards and that is when Seattle was giving up all of those yards. I mean, me and you could have thrown for a couple of hundred yards. They were not stopping anybody, so Cam has not been that good.
Cam Newton has really been a shell of himself. Those injuries that he has sustained over the years when he was with the Carolina Panthers, in my opinion, really caught up to him. Even when he tries to run the ball, he does not even look that comfortable out there. He is just not that dude anymore. Unfortunately, I think his time as the quarterback for the New England Patriots is really going to come to an end the way that he does not want it to. I do not think he will return next year and I do not know what the team wants him next year because, to me, he really cannot provide a lot to the table as far as I am concerned.
