One company is selling masks with the idea to keep Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes safe. With the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, there has been a push to wear masks not only to keep yourself safe, but to protect others if you happen to be sick.

Via Pete Grathoff of the Kansas City Star, Raygun a company based out of Kansas City, is selling face masks that say “Help keep Patrick Mahomes safe: wear a mask.”

It's a good slogan, especially for Chiefs fans who don't want anything to happen to their franchise quarterback. Even if they aren't concerned about getting sick when they are out in public, most don't want Mahomes to get sick. According to Raygun, they sold over 300 masks in the first week.

“We started selling them on (June) 23rd and they have been one of our best selling masks since then — we had a bit over 300 sold in our first week,”

Over the last week, sports teams, the Chiefs or otherwise, at every level have been pushing for people to wear masks.

The New Orleans Saints posted a picture of Sean Payton wearing a mask with the caption “do your job…wear a mask.”

With training camp less than two months away, and cases back on the rise in the United States, there has to be some major concerns from the NFL if they will have a season. If everyone wore a mask that would be a good start. Maybe this company is on to something by using the Chiefs gunslinger's health as a selling point.
