The 2020 Draft is only a couple of weeks away, and it's an open secret that the Miami Dolphins want Tua Tagovailoa as their new pass-caller. They planned to make a quick visit to him, but the coronavirus pandemic put a plug to their plans.

According to Dolphins Wire's Kyle Crabbs, the team tried to push through for a pre-draft visit with the Alabama pass-caller. They reportedly took several players to the league's closed facilities to talk to Tua. It's easy to assume that they made the changes because they want to sell the Dolphins to the highly-rated quarterback.

However, it's made clear that they weren't able to clear the air as the coronavirus hampered their plans. The league forbade teams from meeting with players this week, so having a face-to-face meeting with the quarterback has gone down the window.

This spells trouble for the Dolphins. They are currently fifth in the draft order, and it's not impossible to see Tua get selected before they get the opportunity. He had an outstanding career with the Crimson Tide and is talented enough to convince a team to take a risk on him.

However, the uncertainty also goes both ways. Tagovailoa had to sit out the tail end of the 2019 college football season due to his dislocated hip. The Dolphins don't have any clear idea on the condition of his hip, making his selection risky business.

It's very likely that they will still select Tua if he's on the board, but the visit would have solved a lot of questions. Until then, the Dolphins would have to make a leap of faith if he's name is still on the board by then.
