For over 30 years, Madden NFL has remained one of America’s favorite pastimes. It gives die-hard fans a chance to live out their gridiron dreams in the comfort of their living rooms. With advances in technology moving at such a rapid pace, each edition of the game continues to get better, bringing the action closer to the fan more than ever.
However, part of Madden’s charm, just like actual games, is its share of imperfections. In this feature, we take a look at some of the funniest glitches in the game that have already made their way to Madden lore.
Calvin Johnson goes all the way!
This Madden moment was wrong from the get-go.
During the pre-snap formation, the Lions went to the shotgun with the play designed for Calvin Johnson to run a corner route. The player intentionally moved Megatron all the way to the end zone in Madden, totally ignoring the Redskins secondary, and more importantly, the neutral zone.
Surprisingly, no flag was thrown in Madden just as the Lions snapped the football. Daunte Culpepper had no problem finding Johnson who had all day in the backfield to catch the ball.
Unfortunately, the player’s overzealousness cost him a touchdown in Madden, since Johnson was finally guilty of an infraction as the latter was out of bounds upon the completion of the catch.

Can’t stop this quarterback!
The entire stadium rises in anticipation of a fourth-down situation with less than a yard to go. With a noted higher success rate compared to traditional rushing and passing plays, head coaches and Madden gamers alike bring out the quarterback sneak from their offensive arsenal every once in a while.
Quarterbacks, of course, are not necessarily known for overpowering defensive lines under the aforementioned circumstances. The virtual Josh McCown was a clear exception from that distinction as he barged right through for the first down and a whole lot more.

The player kept grinding and grinding in this Madden sequence until he finally scored a touchdown. Not surprisingly, he was laughing his backside off thanks to the spectacular play of his unstoppable quarterback.

Greg Jennings goes deep in Madden despite a broken leg
Athletes playing through pain is one of the reasons why football is so popular among fans. Nothing is more admirable than witnessing players mustering all of their inner resolve just to help their team win.
However, NFL stars, just like all of us, have their limits, and there will be instances where one has to call it a day after suffering an injury on the gridiron. In the Madden video game universe, Greg Jennings put the concept of quitting in the back seat.
In this Madden glitch, Jennings found himself open in the backfield after a nice read by Aaron Rodgers. Jennings appeared to have broken his leg upon completion of the catch, but instead of calling for time, #85 continued to sprint towards the end zone despite the supposed leg injury.
The gamer hilariously summed up the mind-boggling play perfectly. “I put my team on my back,” referring to the apparently invincible Greg Jennings.
