The 2018 NFL Draft is just a couple of weeks away that features a draft class that is loaded with promising talent at the top of the board at the quarterback. In fact, much of the talk has centered around several teams positioning themselves to snag one early in the first round.
There are several franchises in need to address their respective quarterback situations for the long haul. With all that in mind, Peter King of Sports Illustrated claims that a pair of quarterbacks will be taken in the top three selections later this month.
The one thing we know about this draft is at least two quarterbacks are going in the top three. After that, anyone’s guess.
This discussion has seen four players in USC's Sam Darnold, UCLA's Josh Rosen, Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield and Wyoming's Josh Allen each mentioned prominently as being one of the top choices. Both the Cleveland Browns and New York Jets are widely believed to be targeting a quarterback.
Article Continues BelowThere have been various reports that the Browns have narrowed down their choice between Darnold and Allen with the team leaning toward the latter. Since the Jets moved up from the sixth overall spot to the third selection there has been chatter surrounding Mayfield being their top target at the pick.
The only mystery at this point is what the New York Giants plan to do with the second overall pick. The team is believed to have interest in Darnold but is reportedly open to taking either NC State's Bradley Chubb or Penn State's Saquon Barkley. The Giants do have a need to find Eli Manning's eventual replacement, but management doesn't appear to be sold on the premise that it will be through this year's draft.
With there still being some much unknown at the top few selections in the first round, it should lead to what could be an entertaining start to the 2018 NFL Draft.
