Former Alabama Crimson Tide running back and current 2019 NFL Draft prospect Josh Jacobs will be forced to wait in order to showcase his talents. According to a recent report from Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, Jacobs will be limited at this year's NFL Scouting Combine due to a nagging groin injury.

Although the up-and-coming rusher will be able to participate in some drills, Jacobs' lingering injury will force him out of others that could potentially increase his continually rising draft stock.

“Alabama running back Josh Jacobs, one of the most highly touted running backs in this coming draft, is dealing with a groin injury and will do limited work in [Indianapolis] at the Combine, source says. Nothing major, but knocks him out of several drills,” reads the aforementioned report from Rapoport.

The 21-year-old running back notably spent three seasons suiting up for the heralded Crimson Tide while originally landing on campus at Alabama back in 2016. After receiving just 86 carries and 46 carries, respectively, in his first two seasons at Alabama, Jacobs then encountered a slightly larger workload in what would become his final collegiate season.

In 2018, Jacobs rushed for a single-season career-high 640 yards and 11 touchdowns on 120 carries. Prior to this past season, the current NFL Draft prospect scored only five career touchdowns via the ground game.

However, Jacobs has always been able to turn his carries into positive yardage when handed the football — and in a big way, at that. During his collegiate playing days, he averaged an impressive 6.03 yards per carry.
