Tua Tagovailoa held a “virtual pro day” on Thursday as he hopes to showcase he is fully healthy ahead of the 2020 NFL Draft.

The former Alabama star is regarded as one of the best quarterback prospects in the upcoming draft, though there are still lingering questions about his health after he suffered a dislocated hip injury last year. Tua is hoping to let the tape speak for itself (via Darin Gantt of Pro Football Talk):

According to Les Carpenter of the Washington Post, the Alabama quarterback held a “virtual pro day” today, and his people are sending the tape to all 32 teams.

The workout in Nashville Thursday was organized by former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer, who has worked with Tagovailoa since January. Tagaovailoa had 55 scripted throws, and 20 more in what Dilfer called a “dynamic setting” (whatever that means).

Fewer than 10 people were present for the workout, because of coronavirus outbreak social distancing measures. The workout took place in a private gym, so he might not have been able to throw deep the way he would have on a normal field.

Obviously, teams cannot administer their own physicals or ask Tagovailoa to travel amid the coronavirus pandemic, so this will have to suffice for now.

Despite concerns about the hip, Tagovailoa has been cleared for action and has been very vocal about his readiness ahead of the draft.

The Miami Dolphins and Los Angeles Chargers are two teams who figure to consider drafting a quarterback in the first round, and Tagovailoa is still likely to hear his name called sooner rather than later.

Perhaps the tape will help assuage any fear over Tua's mobility.
