Veteran quarterback Mark Sanchez has just wrapped up his ninth season in the NFL after spending it with the Chicago Bears in the 2017 campaign. However, he had hit the free agent market this season where he has remained unsigned as the draft nears closer.

However, Sanchez could have a more difficult time latching onto another team as he was suspended for the first four games of the 2018 season due to violating the league's performance-enhancing drugs policy, according to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated.

This is the first time that Sanchez has been suspended in his career, and it will put him out of action for the first month of the season if he is able to sign with another team. There is a chance that this doesn't truly impact his market as he has been relegated to a backup role over the few seasons since being let go from the New York Jets.

Sanchez has bounced around the league with the Bears, Dallas Cowboys, and Philadelphia Eagles the last four seasons. He has played in a game since the 2016 campaign with the Cowboys making a pair of appearances where he completed 10 of 18 passes for 93 yards with a pair of interceptions while holding a 30.3 passer rating. In his career, he has played in 77 games in the regular season where has thrown for 15,219 yards with 86 touchdown passes and 86 interceptions with 30 fumbles, and a 73.9 passer rating.

The 31-year-old has already responded to the news via social media stating that this had taken him by complete surprise as he had been tested 73 times throughout his career and had not failed once before this test.

Ultimately, only time will tell how much impact this new situation will have on Sanchez's future prospects in the NFL as he remains unsigned at this point in the offseason with training camp now around the corner.
