New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton took to Instagram to make his statement regarding the Jacob Blake shooting.
On his Instagram, Newton posted a message along with a picture. The message focused on things changing.

The image he posted was one that has been circulating throughout the internet for a while. It is of an unarmed black man being arrested by a couple of cops while a heavily armed white man walks passed them, with one of the cops waving hello to him. This picture shows the difference in treatment and stereotyping the two races receive by the police. Unfortunately, however, some still don't get it. One commenter, in particular, really didn't get it.
The dude with the guns isn’t breaking the law and we have no idea what the other guy did to get arrested so there a few flaws here
The commenter is clearly missing the point; if the races were reversed, the situation would be handled differently. The issue is that a lot of whites get the benefit of the doubt, whereas a lot blacks do not. Unfortunately, due to many of the ignorant comments to the post, there is still a lot of work to do to get the world to see black people in a better light. Fortunately for the future, it seems like many African-Americans in positions of power are ready to take on the challenge.
