Dwayne Haskins looks to be the future of the Washington Redskins but did he have an inkling as a 16-year-old this is how it would all work out?

As a sports editor of the Bullis Bulldog which was his school newspaper, Haskins wrote a preview of the 2015 draft and focused specifically on five teams, including the Redskins.

In the preview about the Redskins, he talked about how RGIII could still work out, but if it didn't look for the team to draft another quarterback in the next five years.

The Redskins have drafted 3 quarterbacks since 2002. They also have been missing a 1st round pick for the last two years they also haven’t one in 2003, 2006, 2008. In 2002, they had drafted Patrick Ramsey, Jason Campbell in 2005 and RG3 in 2012. Hopefully RG3 pans out in DC but if not expect them to draft another in the next 5 years.

Of course, the RGIII thing didn't work out and the team let Kirk Cousins walk after a couple of successful seasons. Last season the team traded for Alex Smith and he looked like the future before he suffered a career-threatening injury.

The team did trade for Case Keenum before the draft but when Haskins was still on the board at 15, it was a pick they couldn't pass up.

It's unclear if Haskins is going to start right away but head coach Jay Gruden has already made it clear that the team is going to give him a shot to compete for it.

This will be a battle to watch all the way through training camp.
