There was a pretty notable personnel move on the Washington Redskins in Week 12.

At first, Josh Norman was inactive. Not long after that though, they decided to activate the cornerback, making Aaron Colvin inactive instead.

However, Norman wasn't in for the defense. Despite being their number one cornerback for most of the year, he was relegated to Special Teams duties.

According to Ethan Cadeaux of NBCSports.com, there was a legitimate reason for that. Washington head coach Bill Callahan claims that Norman is dealing with an injury, and that's why he was playing just on Special Teams.

This is more-than-likely the truth. Norman seemed to be dealing with something near the end of last week as well.

However, there is reason for speculation. Norman simply has not been good this year. He seems to be constantly on the wrong end of big plays. Whenever teams were getting game-changing type plays against the Washington defense, it felt like you could see Norman chasing after the play.

That being said, he's still had his moments in 2019. Norman has still made the occasional great play for the Redskins which has kept him in the rotation.

So has the cornerback finally fallen out of the rotation seemed to be the question on many people's minds. That doesn't seem to be the case.

There's really no reason for Callahan to make up a reason either. Unless he plans on pretending the cornerback is injured for the rest of the year or putting Norman back on the defense, this story simply wouldn't make sense.

The best guess is that once Norman is healthy again, you'll see him back on the field for the defense.
