The Washington Redskins suffered a crucial loss t the hands of the Tennessee Titans in Week 16. It appears safety D.J. Swearinger is not happy with the adjustments defensive coordinator Greg Manusky made during the game.
Washington failed to capitalize on a quarterback switch by Tennessee. According to Nick Shook of NFL.com, Swearinger blasted Mausky's scheme in the second half:

Swearinger said after the 25-16 loss. “I feel like on the third down and 6, third down and 7, we're playing a backup quarterback, why would you put us in man-to-man? We are our best on defense when we look at the quarterback. When you go one high on a backup quarterback, that's easy, man. It'll go backside every time.
“I feel like if we look at the quarterback with all this time we've got on the back end, man, we can dominate every team, every week. I'm not the defensive coordinator though, so…”
Swearinger has not been shy about calling out the team's shortcomings throughout the 2018 NFL season. He has criticized teammates for their approach in practice leading up to games. It is clear that he intends to hold everyone involved accountable for the loss.
Washington seemingly caught a break when quarterback Marcus Mariota was forced out of the game with a reported stinger. As a result, backup quarterback Blaine Gabbert was forced to fill in once again. Although he was not spectacular, Gabbert did more than enough to help secure the win. He completed 7-of-11 passes for 107 yards and the game-winning touchdown.
Opposing teams usually do whatever they can to exploit the weakness when there is a substitution at a key position. However, it is clear Swearinger felt they could have done much more to make Gabbert feel uncomfortable. Regardless, Washington is now the cusp of being officially eliminated from playoff contention.
