The Philadelphia Eagles' young franchise quarterback Carson Wentz has not had to easiest trip through three professional seasons in the NFL.
Wentz, 26, saw veteran signal-caller Nick Foles upstage him in the Eagles' Super Bowl trip and eventual first Vince Lombardi trophy in franchise history in 2017-18 after Wentz tore his ACL in Week 14.
Then, during the 2018 season back as the starting quarterback, the 2016 draft's second-overall selection by Philly struggled coming off his injury, starting in 11 games and going 5-6 before tapping out due to a back ailment.

Foles is no longer in the City of Brotherly Love, however, and Wentz has a free runway to take off and take over as the franchise's star quarterback again.
The Super Bowl hero Foles signed a four-year, $88 million contract in the offseason as a free agent with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Eagles and Jags faced off in preseason last month, with Philly edging out Jacksonville in the exhibition match 24-10 and neither Foles nor Wentz even appearing.
With his second, season-ending injury in the rear view mirror, Wentz is looking ahead at greener pastures leading the Eagles' offense.
