Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson has made a living off of his speed. Since 2008, Jackson has scorched opposing defenses no matter his team or quarterback. In 2019, he's doing the same.

On opening weekend, Jackson recorded the third-fastest time for an NFL player. According to NFL Next Gen Stats, Jackson reached 21.4 MPH on a 51-yard touchdown reception against the Washington Redskins. On Wednesday, he shared his reaction to doing so, saying, via John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia:

“Pretty good for someone 32, right? And that’s not even 100 percent.”

Hitting over 21 MPH is wildly impressive for a 32-year-old, even more so for somebody that wasn't even at 100 percent, according to him. However, he did that, and in the process, torched Washington's defense to the tune of eight receptions for 154 yards and two touchdowns.

Sunday's game was Jackson's first in an Eagles uniform since 2013. Prior to the 2014 season, the team released him. After, he signed with the rival Redskins, then found his way to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before the Eagles righted their wrongs by trading for him.

Jackson's first game back with the Eagles proved he still has some gas left in the tank. So much so that center Jason Kelce believes they wouldn't have won the game without him.

“Both of those huge (touchdown) plays to him, it shows you how much we missed him when he was gone. We kind of all knew that. The ability to score at such a distance is such a huge momentum swing,” Kelce said, via Andrew Porter of 94 WIP.

Jackson's touchdowns, including the 51-yarder, proved to be a huge reason for the Eagles' come-from-behind Week 1 win. Without his speed, that may not have happened.
