In 2018, the Philadelphia Eagles had a multitude of injuries in their secondary. One of the players that had their season cut short by an injury last year was Jalen Mills.
With the Eagles getting their training camp underway, Doug Pederson commented on Jalen Mills' injury status. To begin camp, Mills has already been placed on the Eagles' PUP list—along with other guys in the secondary.
It doesn't look like Mills will make a return as soon as some of the other guys on that list though. This isn't good news for Eagles fans who were anticipating Mills returning during training camp.
With training camp just beginning, there's no need to rush anyone back from injury. Therefore, the Eagles are going to be patient with their starting cornerback.

Besides Mills, Sidney Jones, Ronald Darby, and Rodney McLeod all suffered injuries for Philadelphia. As for Darby and McLeod, they also landed on injured reserve alongside Mills. This put their defense in a tough spot but guys like Cre'Von LeBlanc and Avante Maddox stepped up in their absence.
Finding those depth guys will make it easier on the Eagles if they have to play without Mills to begin the season. When he returns, the Eagles are hoping to get the 2017 version of Mills back.
Nonetheless, the Eagles would love to get Mills back to their defense as soon as possible. Although, according to Pederson, it may be quite some time before we see Mills return to the field for Philadelphia.
