The Philadelphia Eagles are adding to their receiving group. Philly is signing wideout Devin Ross, per Josh Alper of ProFootballTalk.com. To make room for him on the offseason 90-man roster, the team waived guard Johhny Gibson.

These moves aren't too significant and are just your typical early summer roster shuffling. Ross was waived by the Titans earlier this month and wasn't on the open market too long. Ross signed with the Titans as an undrafted free agent last offseason after playing his college ball at Colorado.

Ross had a very productive career with the Buffs, finishing eighth all-time in receptions at Colorado. In his senior season, he had 43 catches for 508 yards and two touchdowns. He was with Tennessee all last offseason but didn't make the team, and was briefly re-signed this time around.

The fact that the Titans cut him in May wasn't a good sign for his NFL future, and Ross is very unlikely to make much noise with the Eagles. If he were to defy the odds and make the team, it would almost certainly be as a special teamer. The Eagles already have a pretty stacked receiver depth chart, and they will have a slew of players competing for just one or two spots.

With Ross in tow, Philadelphia now has a whopping 13 receivers on their 90-man roster. They also just drafted Stanford product J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, who is a lock to make the team. Ross has his work cut out for him.
