We officially have a quarterback controversy in Philadelphia, if Carson Wentz didn't already know. Entering the game midway through the fourth quarter, Eagles backup QB Jalen Hurts fired a missile on 4th & 18 to wide receiver Greg Ward Jr. in the end zone.

Below is the video of the rookie's gorgeous touchdown pass, the first of his career.

In bringing the Eagles to within two scores of the leading Packers, Hurts quickly righted a Philly offense that had looked lost under Carson Wentz. Having scored a measly three points entering the final frame, the Eagles starting QB had completed only six passes for 79 yards, and was sacked four times.

The presence of Hurts however, not only seemed to energize the Eagles' offense, but the defense and special teams as well.

Following the hookup between Hurts and Ward, the Eagles' defense quickly responded by forcing a three and out series from Green Bay, and the special teams unit capitalized by returning the ensuing punt for a touchdown of their own. Though the lead was narrowed to a manageable seven points with three minutes left in regulation, the Packers would ultimately score again to extend their advantage back to double digits.

Regardless of the outcome of the game, it now seems apparent that the embattled Eagles will spend the next week contemplating a permanent change at quarterback. With Wentz unable to perform, we may have just witnessed the beginning of the Jalen Hurts' era in the City of Brotherly Love.

The Eagles were dealt a significant setback on Sunday beyond the loss to Green Bay. The New York Giants added to their NFC East lead by upsetting the Seattle Seahawks. The Eagles now have added ground to make up in the next four weeks.

This sharpens the dilemma the Eagles face as they try to find the answer on offense. Did their late flurry against the Packers show that Jalen Hurts can make magic happen in December? Doug Pederson might have to see what he has with his backup quarterback… who could soon become a starter.
