The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially entered a new era after Ben Roethlisberger finally retired from the league. We'll see how the franchise can build the roster, as the AFC North is extremely competitive. We take a look at what the Steelers might do in the 2022 NFL Draft with some of our bold predictions in mind.

One main area of concern for Pittsburgh is the offensive line. It was a major issue last season, so the Steelers should emphasize this position group in the NFL Draft. If the front office can acquire a starting-caliber offensive tackle and another key prospect for the interior offensive line, then this team will be in much better shape in 2022.

Of all of the teams in the NFL, the Steelers seem to have a keen eye for talent in the later rounds. Considering there are some concerns regarding the wide receiver group, it'd be wise of the front office to bring in a young prospect. Perhaps he'll be a pleasant surprise down the road? Additionally, this franchise could make a surprising move in the first round this year.

With that said, here are three bold Steelers predictions for the 2022 NFL Draft.

Steelers Predictions For The 2022 NFL Draft

3. The front office acquires multiple offensive linemen

This is something that should make Steelers fans happy. It was hard to watch Pittsburgh's offense last season, as time and time again the offensive line struggled to do anything productive. Merely improving the trenches will help this team tremendously. Not only will the quarterback have better protection, but Najee Harris will have better run lanes to scamper up the field through.

Considering how stout the defense is and the number of exciting weapons the offense has, the Steelers aren't too far away from being a serious contender in the league. If the front office can reel in the right prospects in the NFL Draft, Pittsburgh will be in fantastic shape for the 2022 season and beyond. Look for this franchise to acquire some linemen in this draft.

2. Pittsburgh selects a wide receiver gem late in the NFL Draft

We've seen the Steelers do well in the later rounds before, so why wouldn't they continue that trend? Although Pittsburgh has some solid talent in Chase Claypool and Diontae Johnson, the wide receiver room is a bit concerning. For that reason, the front office should be willing to use a late-round flier on a rookie receiver to help the offense.

Pittsburgh doesn't necessarily have any great options for the slot receiver position. For that reason, the Steelers could look to select a prospect later in the draft to help with that situation. Adding a talented route-runner would help this offense tremendously, as that prospect would compliment Claypool and Johnson well.

1. Steelers trade up to draft a rookie quarterback

The Steelers brought in Mitchell Trubisky during free agency and he's likely going to be the starting quarterback to kickoff the 2022 season. Regardless, Pittsburgh should hedge their bets by taking a rookie quarterback in the NFL Draft. This team has been heavily involved in scouting this rookie quarterback class and many believe a quarterback will be taken by this franchise.

Depending on how the board falls, Pittsburgh might have to trade up. They seem enthralled with Malik Willis, who is deemed as the top quarterback in the draft. If the Steelers hope to acquire the Liberty standout, then they must make a move up in the draft. It's unknown what will happen, but getting into the top 10 should secure a rookie quarterback to compete with Mitchell Trubisky for the starting job.
