Since Aaron Rodgers re-entered the NFL spotlight by signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers in June, many have been enamored with the quarterback's mysterious new wife. While Rodgers will not reveal much about his new spouse, he added a small insight into her side of the family.

Rodgers revealed that his wife has a 20-year-old sister named Mia, whom he called the “brains of the family.” Not only does he respect her intelligence, but he apparently trusts her enough to field her opinions on his professional ventures. Rodgers jokingly admitted that his sister-in-law called the shots on his contract negotiations with the Steelers.

“I was taking orders from my sister-in-law, Mia,” Rodgers said, via ‘The Athletic.' “She's 20 and she's the brains of the family; you just have to ask her.”

Rodgers has not revealed much about his wife other than her first name, Brittani. However, considering her sister is only 20, it can be assumed that Brittani is likely younger than her new husband.

While acknowledging the public interest in his personal life, the Steelers quarterback stated that he has no intention of revealing much about his wife. Rodgers pointed to his previous relationships falling apart in the media spotlight as the reason he finds it in his best interest to keep his worlds apart.

Whatever advice Rodgers' sister-in-law gave him, the Steelers certainly owe her a thank-you gift. Rodgers signed a one-year, $13.65 million deal in free agency, a deal that seemed low to many for a player like him. Rodgers' best days are certainly behind him, but most still expected the 41-year-old to have a higher asking price, particularly with retirement on his mind.

The veteran's team-friendly contract allowed the Steelers to pursue other targets in the offseason. Pittsburgh acquired DK Metcalf and Darius Slay before obtaining Rodgers and added Jalen Ramsey and Jonnu Smith after signing him. Pittsburgh also traded George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys for future draft stock.

The Steelers' receiving corps is not as potent without Pickens, but it still gives Rodgers several intriguing names to work with. Metcalf is arguably the best receiver Rodgers will throw to in the last five years, while Smith forms a fascinating tight end duo with incumbent starter Pat Freiermuth. Rodgers has historically had success with high-level tight ends, which Smith and Freiermuth have proven to be over the last few seasons.
