The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered maybe their most disappointing loss of the season when they fell to the previously 2-10 Arizona Cardinals. Following the 24-10 loss, some Steelers fans called for coach Mike Tomlin to be fired.

The overreaction was called out by NFL media personality, Rich Eisen, who could not have disagreed more.

“If you want this to be the moment the Steelers finally get rid of Mike Tomlin, you are out of your frickin’ minds,” Rich Eisen said on The Rich Eisen Show. “Mike Tomlin is one of the best coaches of all time. He’s going to be in the Hall of Fame one day. It’s going to happen,” via Allison Koehler of USA Today.

Eisen also called for fans to remain patient as the team transitions.

“Steelers fans, I know you’re very disappointed with that loss, and you can’t believe what this and that and the other thing is. Pickett may not be the guy. It may take some time. Not everyone is, apparently, Jordan Love… or Stroud.”

Yes the loss was disappointing because the Steelers were expected to get an “easy” win as they try to make the playoffs. Instead of advancing to 8-4, they're just 7-5. However, the Steelers are already outperforming their talent, especially fielding an offense that's in the bottom-5 in points per game.

In addition, there was a lot going against Pittsburgh in this game. Not only did quarterback Kenny Pickett get injured, but there were two weather delays. One loss which featured a quarterback injury does not cancel out all Mike Tomlin accomplished, including winning a Super Bowl and never having a losing record. There are few coaches with as much success as Tomlin, and he should be one of the last names on the hot seat.
