The Baltimore Ravens traded up to the end of the first round to draft quarterback Lamar Jackson. While Joe Flacco is still expected to be the team’s starter for the upcoming season, the Ravens clearly have hopes of developing Jackson into their quarterback of the future.

Jackson, who slid a bit further than expected in the draft, is grateful for the opportunity the Ravens have given him, so much so that he’s basically guaranteed delivering them another Super Bowl at some point in his career.

“They’re going to get a Super Bowl out of me,” Jackson told Deion Sanders of NFL Media, per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

Those are certainly some confident words from Jackson, who still needs to prove he can translate his style of play into the NFL. While he received some rave reviews during the pre-draft process, a handful of teams in need of a quarterback still elected to pass on him in the draft.

But Jackson has the physical tools to develop into an above-average starting quarterback, which was likely why the Ravens pulled the trigger on the deal to go up and get him.

Even after getting Jackson, the Ravens still have some work to do with the rest of their roster to even get back into the postseason. They’ve now missed out for the past three seasons, which is tied for the longest playoff drought in their 23-year history.

They’ve won their two Super Bowls on the back of excellent defense. But if Jackson can live up to his potential and make good on his guarantee, he might just be able to flip the script and lead them to victory with offense.
