The New Orleans Saints are set to play in their first playoff game in four seasons with an NFC Wild Card matchup on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

According to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, Pro Bowl quarterback Drew Brees voiced that he is preparing for it in the same manner to any other game.

“I approach every game the same way,” Brees said. “I prepare like every game could be our last or it’s a playoff game or I have something to prove, that I’ve got an edge. So it’s not like ‘oh the playoffs are here so let’s ramp it up. Things are a little more important. It’s always important, so for me the preparation is no different.”

Brees has plenty of playoff experience having played 11 games with 10 of those coming with the Saints including leading the franchise to their only championship in the 2009 season. The vast amount of success that he has had in the postseason should provide him much comfort in his preparation for Sunday's game.

It also helps that the Saints now have a balanced offense that features a formidable running game behind their two-headed rushing attack with Pro Bowl running backs Mark Ingram and rookie Alvin Kamara.T This has New Orleans one of the league's most explosive offenses while making them into a serious Super Bowl contender.

The 38-year-old has also had plenty of success in the two meeting this season against the Panthers throwing for 489 yards on a 74.6 percent completion percentage with four touchdowns, no interceptions, and a 117.8 passer rating.
