It's been a wild offseason for the Seattle Seahawks so far. They've made some bold moves in an attempt to get back on track. It might take some time though, but if the front office makes the right moves, Seattle should be back in business in no time. We take a look at two moves the Seahawks must make to complete their roster after the 2022 NFL Draft.

This team needs to make several moves to have a competitive roster, but at this point in the offseason, that will be difficult. Instead, the Seahawks should focus on bringing in some veteran talent to balance out the team. Seattle could use some help on the defensive side of the ball and the quarterback position is a concern.

To improve defensively, the Seahawks should consider signing a free agent linebacker. The Seahawks have to find a way to become more competitive within the front seven and a linebacker would help them out tremendously. Meanwhile, the front office shouldn't rule out trading for a quarterback either. If they can make these two moves, then the franchise will be in a better spot for next season.

With that said, here are two moves the Seahawks must make to finalize the roster after the 2022 NFL Draft.

Seahawks Moves After 2022 NFL Draft

2. Sign a veteran linebacker

A veteran leader is just what this front seven needs. Seattle brought in a plethora of young talent to the secondary. So that area should improve over time. However, the defensive line and middle linebacker positions were ignored throughout the NFL Draft. For that reason, the Seahawks should highly consider bringing in a veteran to help the defense.

Having a strong front seven goes a long way for any defense. Being able to control the line of scrimmage goes a long way in becoming a successful team. The Seahawks defense has a long way to go before becoming great again. However, acquiring the right veteran linebacker would go a long way for the 2022 season.

One name that stands out is KJ Wright. He has 10 years of experience in Pete Carroll's system and would be a great acquisition for Seattle. Not only can he still play, but Wright would be a fantastic leader for the young prospects on the roster. He'd essentially be a player-coach for the defense as the Seahawks develop their young roster.

1. Trade for Jimmy Garoppolo or Baker Mayfield

Since trading Russell Wilson, Seattle has found themselves in a troubling situation under center. As of now, Geno Smith and Drew Lock will battle it out for the starting quarterback spot. Neither of which has proven to be a consistent option, which isn't ideal for this franchise. With that in mind, the Seahawks should highly consider pulling the trigger for either Jimmy Garoppolo or Baker Mayfield.

A deal for Garoppolo will be difficult, as the San Francisco 49ers are unlikely to trade to a divisional opponent. Regardless, he'd be a great addition for the Seahawks, as he can be a solid bridge quarterback for Seattle until they find the quarterback of the future. Meanwhile, Mayfield would be a great option considering he's still young enough to prove himself. The Browns are moving on, but there is a real chance he bounces back if he's leading a new offense.

We'll see how it plays out. The Seahawks might be content with Smith and Lock, as the front office won't want to give up too many assets for a veteran quarterback. However, trading for either Garoppolo or Mayfield would help this team immensely.
