The Seattle Seahawks put together their best team performance in the win Sunday over the Detroit Lions. They won the game 51-29, and it was not even as close as the final score indicates. They got contributions from all over the field, on offense, defense and special teams.
Part of the reason for that was the Seahawks got a lot of injured players back. They also activated a number of players from the COVID-19 reserve list earlier this past week. One of those players was cornerback D.J. Reed. He was activated off the reserve list on Wednesday after missing the team's two prior games.
After the big win over Detroit, Reed opened up about his experience dealing with COVID-19 and how it impacted his play on the field Sunday.
DJ Reed speaking on his COVID experience. Says he had a bad headache, sore throat, a few things. "It was definitely serious for me." Says he felt winded today, had to catch his breath. "That COVID ain't no joke."

As The Athletic's Michael-Shawn Dugar reported, Reed had a lot of the normal symptoms, including headaches and a sore throat. But even days after being cleared of the disease, he was still feeling the effects. Reed talked about constantly being out of breath and how lethargic and out of energy he was throughout the game.
Despite still reeling from the effects of COVID-19, Reed had a great day. He finished the game with eight tackles, seven of them solo. He also picked off Lions quarterback Tim Boyle twice in the win. Boyle threw three interceptions on the day.
Seattle got another dominant performance from Rashaad Penny. He ran for 170 yards and two touchdowns, to go along with two catches for 15 more yards. The Seahawks appeared to have figured out their running back problems, but it's a little late this season.
