One day after rejoining the Seattle Seahawks, Luke Willson has decided it's not for him and that he won't in fact come back.
My understanding on Luke Willson's release was that it was his decision. He decided last night, after practicing and studying the Seahawks' new system, that his heart wasn't in it. He's got other interests in life that he wants to pursue.

Willson spent 7 years with the Seahawks and 9 total in the league. He was a super late addition for Seattle with the regular season opener just a couple of weeks away. Now he won't be returning but it was his choice and not something the team decided on.
The tight end released a statement about his decision and referenced a health issue he had this offseason when he dealt with a pericardial effusion.
“After reflecting an everything yesterday and being in the building, I have decided that it’s time for me to begin with the next chapter of my life.”
A pericardial effusion is defined as a buildup of extra fluid around the heart that can prevent it from pumping normally.
Willson went on to thank the Seahawks and the organization as a whole.
“Football is really all I know,” Wilson said. “It’s all I’ve done for the last two decades. I’ll be honest, I have no idea what’s next at the moment..but whatever it is, you can be sure that I will bring a lot of energy to it.”
The now former Seattle tight end is just 31-years-old but sounds as though he will be hanging up the cleats for good. He did participate in the Seahawks' practice on Tuesday before coming to his decision on Wednesday.
