Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson responded to some of the recent chatter regarding his future with the team during an appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show.”

Wilson said he was certain the team had gotten inquiries, but added he was not sure whether the Seahawks were making him available. The Pro Bowl quarterback stated he just wants to win, even poking fun at how miserable he looked in a cameo at the Super Bowl.

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reported Monday night Russell Wilson's camp was growing “increasingly frustrated” with the team's inability to protect him. La Canfora also reported teams have been “sniffing around” and doing preliminary work on a possible trade for Wilson.

For his part, Wilson wants to be more active in personnel decisions in Seattle. He had been very open about wanting a say in the team's offensive coordinator hiring following the dismissal of Brian Schottenheimer. The Seahawks ultimately hired former Los Angeles Rams passing game coordinator Shane Waldron.

Wilson told Patrick he wants to have an open line of communication with the front office:

“I want to be involved,” Russell Wilson said, via Patrik Walker of CBS Sports. “At the end of the day, it's your legacy, your team's legacy. … It helps to be involved more. That dialogue should happen more often.”

Wilson has been sacked at least 41 times in each of the last eight seasons, including 51 times in 2018 and a league-high 48 times in 2019. He was brought down 47 times this past season.

The Seahawks and general manager John Schneider will have to decide how best to proceed. Wilson is a franchise quarterback, but he also has a massive contract. Might a trade appeal to Seattle?

Russell Wilson seems more invested in how he can help the Seahawks win in the present, so long as is more involved.
