Alex McGough isn't a household name for the Seattle Seahawks and he's making headlines for the wrong reasons. After going out to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, McGough was allegedly cited for leaving a man bloodied during an altercation at a bar, per TMZ Sports.
On Wednesday, McGough was allegedly taking part in St. Patrick's Day celebrations at the Green Parrot Pub in Tampa, Florida. Anthony Albino, the alleged victim in the incident, said that he was at the bar with an old friend of his before McGough approached him.
Upon approaching him, Albino claims that McGough told him about making an advance on his girlfriend. Then, things got heated and McGough reportedly hit Albino, leaving him with a broken nose and a scrape on his elbow. Albino plans on pressing charges on McGough due to the events that unfolded.
Back in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Seahawks selected McGough in the seventh round of the draft out of Florida International. After being added to Seattle's practice squad near the end of last season, McGough is currently listed as the immediate backup to Russell Wilson.
As of this moment, the police are investigating the situation, and McGough hasn't been charged for a crime yet. But if the police do discover Albino's recollection of the events to be true, then McGough could be facing assault charges soon.
