Early on Monday morning, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Travis Jonsen was arrested on a DUI charge after police witnessed him speeding and weaving in and out of lanes on a Florida highway.

Following the news, Buccaneers GM Jason Licht addressed the situation with a statement.

Via Rick Stroud:

“We expect all members of our organization to uphold the high standards that have been established. We are aware of the situation regarding Travis Jonsen from earlier this morning and will refrain from further comment at this time while the legal process continues.”

For what it's worth, Jonsen has been on the Buccaneers' practice squad roster for the last two seasons. The 25-year-old reportedly refused to take a breathalyzer after being arrested and was eventually released from jail on Monday on a $500 bond.

Jonsen signed with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2020 and always faced tough odds to break in and actually earn a spot on the roster, especially considering how deep Tampa's wide receiver group is. NFL teams don't take these types of situations lightly either, so there is definitely a possibility the organization cuts ties with him.

Only time will tell but it's not going to help his chances of making the team.
