2019 is going to be a very big season for Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston, so big that a Marshawn Lynch mindset has emerged in the offseason. Winston, the first overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, is heading into the final year of his rookie deal. He's coming off a very rocky season in which he was benched multiple times for Ryan Fitzpatrick.

2019 is going to be Winston's last stand in Tampa, and it sounds like he's ready for the challenge.

“I always come in like ‘Yeah, we’re going to have a good season,’ but I want to be about action,” he said, per Greg Auman of The Athletic. “I don’t care about the predictions. I don’t care about expectations. I want to be the best me every game. (Coaching) definitely helps, but they can only do so much. It’s up to the individual, and that’s me.”

That's sure to be music to the ears of new Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians, who loves a fighter. Luckily for Jameis Winston, he'll be getting a fresh start after things grew stale with previous coach Dirk Koetter. Winston has always been high on talent, but he's been unable to consistently harness it.

Jameis Winston is the subject of a ton of outside criticism, but it sounds like he can handle it. Winston made it clear to Auman that he isn't going to let the outside noise get to him.

“In the game of sports, all eyes are on you,” he said. “People are going to say you suck. People are going to say you’re trash. People are going to say you can’t do this. People are going to say you can’t do that. I was the first pick of the NFL Draft, and people are still telling me what I can’t do.”

With Arians now guiding him, Winston is set up for success next season. Arians is one of the best offensive minds in the game, and his offenses are always prolific. Winston has a group of weapons that would make most passers jealous, and now he'll need to deliver on his promise.
