Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is not only disregarding strong advisement from the NFLPA's medical expert regarding joint practices with his new teammates—he's reportedly leading “incredibly detailed” workouts, according to NFL Network's Michael Giardi.

Giardi added that a source told him that Brady is “in complete command” of the practices with his new teammates, and he referred to Brady as the team's “pied piper” during the offseason. An “energized” Brady is apparently calling plays, orchestrating the offense, and is seemingly already an expert (and craftsman) of the Bucs' revamped offense.

This is consistent with previous reports of how Brady has been conducting workouts—including running full plays with multiple members of the Tampa offense.

“The way (Brady) runs our workouts is like a practice. Instead of just telling us run a dig or something like that, he’s telling us the full play call. He’s doing his cadence as if we were in a game. He’s making adjustments, doing the hots and sights. With a guy like him, it’s really easy”  said Bucs running back Dare Ogunbowale.

Brady has led multiple team workouts this week, despite a memo from the NFLPA's Dr. Thom Mayer recommending teams avoid holding joint practices as Covid-19 cases continue to spike around the country. Instead, Brady has posted multiple defiant messages on his Instagram story—in addition to shilling an unapproved “immunity” supplement to potentially combat the virus—and seemingly has no plans to halt the practices anytime soon.

Florida has become a hotspot for coronavirus outbreaks, and two Buccaneers players and an assistant coach tested positive in the last week.
