The Tampa Bay Buccaneers entered Sunday night's matchup against the New Orleans Saints as the highest scoring team in the NFL. They were 10-3 and looking to keep pace with the Green Bay Packers atop the NFC. Instead, they were shut out at home, 9-0, and subsequently fell into a three-way tie with the Dallas Cowboys, Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Rams at 10-4.

They will still certainly win the NFC South division, but their chances at the overall #1 seed and only first round bye took a major hit.

To make matters worse, the Buccaneers sustained injuries to their three best offensive weapons.

Midway through the first half, wide receiver Chris Godwin went over the middle on a crossing route. He hauled in Tom Brady's pass but was tackled low and went head over heels. Godwin bent his knee awkwardly and despite walking off the field under his own power, he was seen limping on the sideline before heading to the locker room. He was later ruled out for the rest of the game with what appears to be a sprained MCL.

Later in the 2nd quarter, Brady found Mike Evans for his only catch of the game. Evans went high up in the air to catch it, with Marshon Lattimore draped all over him. Lattimore, the long-time nemesis of Mike Evans, had shut Evans out to that point. After the play, Evans jogged over to the sideline and didn't look quite right. He returned for one play before leaving again and was later ruled out for the rest of the game with a hamstring injury.

Buccaneers quarterback was already facing a lot of pressure from the Saints front four. But once Brady's top two receivers went down, it seemed to get even harder to complete a single pass. The Bucs trailed 6-0 at halftime despite their defense dominating as well.

Things got worse for Tampa Bay midway through the 3rd quarter. Starting tailback Leonard Fournette was hit really hard. He spun in the air like a helicopter and when he landed almost completed a full split. It did not look very good for Fournette.

Fournette walked to the sidelines but had to be helped to the locker room. He is reportedly dealing with a hamstring injury as well.

Without his top weapons, Tom Brady struggled to get anything going on offense. Brady finished 26 of 48 for 214 yards and one interception. He also coughed up a fumble in the red zone.

With the Bucs trailing 9-0 late in the 4th quarter, Brady rollout out to his right and fired a pass for Scotty Miller. Saints defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson undercut the route and picked off Brady's pass. After Brady got to the sideline, he showed his frustration, throwing a tablet.

It was only the third time in Tom Brady's illustrious career that he was shut out. It was also the only time in his career that it happened at home.

The Buccaneers became the first team in NFL history leading the league in scoring after at least 10 weeks to be shut out.
