Former Tennessee Titans first-round draft pick Isaiah Wilson was arrested at gunpoint prior to being dealt to the Miami Dolphins.

Wilson–who was cut by the Dolphins just days after they acquired him–was reportedly involved in a high-speed chase and charged with multiple offenses, per John Glennon of Broadway Sports Media:

In the early hours of Jan. 7, just a few days before his teammates were scheduled to play Baltimore in a first-round playoff game, Isaiah Wilson was arrested in Barrow County, which is about 25 miles northwest of Athens, Ga., where Wilson played at the University of Georgia.

Wilson was booked and charged with the following, according to the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office: fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer for a felony offense; speeding in a construction zone; reckless driving; marijuana possession of less than one ounce; possession and use of drug-related objects; and reckless conduct.

The 22-year-old was apparently clocked going 123 mph on University Parkway.

Multiple Barrow County officers pursued the vehicle before Wilson–and a woman later identified as Grace Barnett–was ultimately stopped and held by an undercover ICE agent. Wilson was asked why he sped up after seeing police activate flashers, to which he responded he was “scared” after past encounters with law enforcement. He apparently had acid and other drugs in his vehicle.

Isaiah Wilson had a tumultuous year-plus. He was immediately placed on the COVID-19 list when he reported. The former Georgia star was charged with a DUI in September and later suspended in December for violating team rules.

The Dolphins released Wilson after he was late to his physical and failed to show up for voluntary workouts he said he would attend.

It could be tough for Isaiah Wilson to stick with a team after news of this most recent incident. The Titans and NFL declined to comment when asked about the arrest, per Glennon.
