Heading into his rookie campaign, Tennessee Titans wide receiver Corey Davis had high hopes of making a significant impact but those hopes were derailed by a nagging injury that cost him most of his first year.

However, Davis has gone through this entire offseason with a full bill of health with eyes on bouncing back in a major way in his second season. According to Erik Bacharach of The Nashville Tennessean, the 23-year-old has made it clear that he is extremely motivated to prove himself in 2018.

“I’m very hungry,” he said. “Last year I was pretty down, I was injured most of the season. But now that I’m healthy, I’m able to come out here and perfect my craft and get better.

“It’s a different year, I’ll tell you that. So stay tuned.”

Tennessee has some major hope for Davis, their No. 5 overall pick, to step into a prominent role in his rookie year but he was limited to just 11 games played due to a persistent hamstring injury. This didn’t allow for him to get his footing under him at any point in the regular season recording 34 catches on 64 targets for 375 receiving yards and no touchdown receptions.

Davis was able to break through in the playoffs in the AFC divisional round game against the New England Patriots where he made five catches for 63 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. He demonstrated plenty of that promising potential on his touchdown grabs with the first one coming on a one-handed catch and the latter being a tip-toe grab while pushing toward the sideline in the end zone.

If he's able to prove that he's past his previous leg injuries, Davis has a chance to latch onto possibly the No.1 receiving option role in the passing game alongside Pro Bowl tight end Delanie Walker. The opportunity is in front of him to be one of the breakout players this upcoming season that could make a name for himself in 2018.
