The time of dread for so many veterans who fall into the veteran cap casualty picture remains in full swing and on Friday, another one bites the dust in the Music City.

Tennessee Titans safety Da'Norris Searcy has been cut by the team, according to the player's agent, the extremely popular Universal Sports Management. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network pushed the news along on Friday morning via Twitter.

Searcy, 29, is a fourth-round selection out of North Carolina. Starting his career with the Buffalo Bills, he was primarily a special teams player until his third season in which he broke through to start seven games as the team's strong safety.

After starting 13 games in 2014 in Orchard Park, New York, he signed a deal with the Titans in 2015, the place he's remained since.

His Titans career ends with 33 games started and 45 total while putting forth three interceptions, 12 pass deflections, one fumble recovery, 4.5 sacks and 88 total tackles. He was set to earn $3.85 million in 2018 including a $750,000 roster bonus. His release leaves $1.125 million in dead money against the cap but saves just enough for the franchise's liking prior to free agency.

The Titans now have around $57.65 million of cap space to freely work the free agency market.

Safeties on the roster include starting safety Kevin Byard, Curtis Riley, Denzel Johnson and Brynden Trawick, who made the Pro Bowl a year ago as a special teamer.
