The 2017 campaign came to a disappointing end for the Tennessee Titans after they were dominated by the New England Patriots in the AFC Divisional Round. Unfortunately, got worse when it was revealed that right tackle Jack Conklin had suffered a torn ACL.

Needless to say, not much time has passed for Conklin to completely heal from an injury of this severity. According to Jim Wyatt of the team's official website, this could leave his status for Week 1 of the 2018 NFL season in jeopardy:

Well, he’s making progress. Jack didn’t take part in the offseason work – he missed all the OTAs and minicamp. But he was on the field watching, and he looked good walking around. Titans coach Mike Vrabel said at his final minicamp presser he expects everyone to be ready for camp, with Conklin being the only exception. He mentioned PUP as a possibility. So I’m not necessarily expecting him at the start of camp on July 26. As for the start of the season, well, it’s too early for me to say about that quite yet.

It goes without saying that the Titans have undergone some major changes to their coaching staff this offseason. As a result, the offense is currently a work in progress. The absence of one of their key offensive lineman is certainly not ideal for Tennesse at this point in time.

Although he has been in attendance for organized team activities and minicamp, Conklin was restricted to watching practice from the sidelines. His lack of activity suggests that his timetable for a return could dip into the 2018 campaign.

The Titans selected Conklin with the eighth overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. He quickly established himself as one of the most promising linemen in the league after garnering first-team All-Pro honors in his rookie season. He had started every game of his career before tearing his ACL against the Patriots.
