Over the last couple of seasons, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen has emerged as one of the top players league at his position. He's basically become Randy Moss.
Thielen once against proved again proved this on Sunday afternoon against Los Angeles. He hauled in six catches on nine targets for a game-high 123 receiving yards, which put him in an exclusive group in team history, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
Thielen’s six-reception, 123-yard day gives him 62 catches for 916 yards on the season. And that puts him in select company over the entire course of franchise history.
Only Randy Moss, once in 2003, caught 60 or more passes for 900 or more yards through the first 10 games of a season. No other receiver in franchise history accomplished that, including Moss in any of his other six years with the team
The 27-year-old currently ranks fourth in the league with 62 catches and second in receiving yards through the first 10 games played. He has been able to notch at least five catches each game while recording 90 or more receiving yards six times in the process.
The fact that Thielen is in the same company as Randy Moss for a team record only speaks to the level of talent that he possesses.
He has quickly emerged as one of the promising talents in the league. Theilen is close to already surpass last year's totals of 69 catches for 967 receiving yards in 16 games played after being an undrafted rookie out of Minnesota State back in 2014.
With six more games to play, Thielen has a chance to finish with an impressive campaign that is currently on pace for 99 catches for 1,466 receiving yards.
