No one knows what the Washington football team will change its name to. Or what the logo will look like moving forward. While Washington continues to discuss the best options, Madden 21 is going to be featuring a generic Washington team in the game.
Earlier this week, Washington committed to making an official change to the team name and logo. The organization released a statement that they'll finally be adjusting their name. As a result, EA Sports shared its support for Washington's decision.

With the game scheduled to release on August 25, there are already physical copies made. Of course, those physical copies are going to still have the old name and logo. However, EA Sports exclaimed that there will be an update to prevent it from remaining in the game.
“The first changes will be available to our EA Access players and will include audio/commentary updates; motion graphics and presentation updates; stadium art, environments, crowd gear and signage updates; and uniform updates,” EA said in regards to Madden 21. “Players may continue to see some outdated Washington references in other areas of the game at launch, but we are committed to removing all of those from the game in additional title updates coming shortly after launch.”
For the time being, Madden 21 is going to have a generic team representing the Washington squad. But once the franchise decides on a new logo and name, it seems likely that the game will feature an update to represent the alterations made.
