Washington Football Team fans can now breathe a sigh of relief: Taylor Heinicke said his knee should be fine after injuring it in their Week 14 game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Heinicke sustained the injury in the fourth quarter of the contest after he was sacked by Cowboys defensive tackle Neville Gallimore. He was initially deemed as questionable to play, but Ron Rivera and Co. decided to sit him out for the rest of the game.

Of course with Heinicke failing to return, it raised concerns about the severity of his injury. Fortunately, the 28-year-old quarterback himself eased the concerns surrounding his condition after the game.

“The knee is fine; it was a little scary at first, but it was really my throwing elbow that got me in the first half on a throw. I didn’t feel right ever since. I think the knee should be fine; I should be ready this week,” the Washington Football Team star said, per Nicki Jhabvala of Washington Post.

This is certainly good news for Ron Rivera and his Washington Football Team, especially as they aim to bounce back following their loss to the Cowboys.

Washington has won four straight prior to Sunday's game, but the lost certainly put their playoff bid in a perilous situation. With that said, they cannot afford to drop any more games in the final stretch of regular season football.

Hopefully, Taylor Heinicke won't need to be sidelined in their upcoming games. They play the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15 before another showdown with the Cowboys.
