Why The Kings Can Cover The Spread/Win
The Los Angeles Kings come into this game with a little pep in their step after clinching a playoff spot due to the Golden Knights losing last night. They'll look to keep the momentum going into the playoffs with another win here tonight. Jonathan Quick is the projected starting goaltender for the Kings tonight as he's been hot lately, allowing two or fewer goals in his last four starts. On the season, Quick is sporting a .909 save percentage on the season while allowing 2.58 goals against per game. He'll need to step it up if the Kings want to compete for the cup this year, but regardless if they get far or not, they look like they have a nice future coming up in the next few years.
Why The Kraken Can Cover The Spread/Win
The Seattle Kraken come into this game on the tail end of a back-to-back after losing to the Canucks last night. The Kraken are dead last in the Pacific Division and it's not even close. They're the new team to the league and are looking to rebuild imminently, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. They are young, full of potential, and have cool uniforms, what more could you ask for? The Kraken will be looking to get lucky in the lottery for a good draft pick, and you never know what can happen in the next couple of years. For now, they're ready to move into the off-season. A win or loss here tonight wouldn't change anything, playoff-wise, so they're just playing for pride at this point.

This game is going to be a pure value pick here, and my first instinct was to take the under. However, after looking through it again, I think grabbing the Kings -1.5 while it's in plus money might be the better option. It's definitely possible, regardless if both of these teams love to hit under trends. I typically stay clear of puck lines just because they're so hard to hit, but we're here to win some money, so give me the Kings to cover the spread tonight.
