Why The Penguins Can Cover The Spread/Win
The Pittsburgh Penguins have a lot riding on this season as it's likely the last dance for the core three of this team that has already won three cups together: Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Kris Letang. The Pens have controlled the majority of this series so far, from both a statistical standpoint and the eye test. However, the Penguins are still without their top two goaltenders Tristan Jarry and Casey DeSmith so third-string Louis Domingue has stepped up to the plate and made the crease his own. So far, Domingue is posting a .906 save percentage in this series and will look to continue his efforts with a win on the road tonight to take home the series.
Why The Rangers Can Cover The Spread/Win
The New York Rangers are in trouble, to say the least. They were dominating in the regular season, beating every team in front of them. But now that we're in the playoffs, they're down 3-1 in the series and Vezina Trophy-winning favorite Igor Shesterkin is not looking hot. The Rangers need him to be at the top of his game and he's already been replaced in two separate games by Alex Georgiev. Of course, we can expect to see Shesterkin in the net again tonight as he's posting a mediocre .905 save percentage in the playoffs so far.
The Rangers have a lot of depth on their team and they are extremely talented on both sides of the ice, but just can't seem to find the back of the net. They're going to need a bit more offensive help if they want to win three games in a row to shut down the penguins.

Is it too much to say that I no longer believe in the Rangers? I had them winning this series in six but now they're about to lose the series in five; a gentleman's sweep. After seeing the injuries to the Penguins' goaltenders, I got worried and thought it was a wrap, but boy was I wrong. The Penguins have looked amazing so far, playing like a true Stanley Cup contender. They're not worried about their goaltending when they can just outscore the Rangers to begin with. DeSmith was deemed out for the remainder of the playoffs, but Jarry still has a chance to return relatively soon, which would give this Penguins team an even bigger boost. I'm going to take the Pens here in this game because they're in plus money as they lead the series 3-1. Even if they lose, bet them again at home in game six.
