Travis Touchdown returns with a new mainline No More Heroes game as NMH 3 arrives on August 27, 2021, for the Nintendo Switch.

TRAVIS STRIKES AGAIN AS NO MORE HEROES 3 RELEASES THIS SUMMER

The Nintendo Direct two weeks back revealed the release date for one of Nintendo fans' most-awaited sequels. Originally pegged for a 2020 release date, Nintendo finally confirms that No More Heroes 3 (NMH 3)will be on the Nintendo Switch on August 27, 2021.

No More Heroes 3 continues the story of Travis Touchdown, who, after a two-year self-imposed exile, returns to Santa Destroy only to find Earth being invaded by aliens. As the world's top assassin, he now has to protect his planet from a host of space invaders.

Parents all over the world trust Nintendo for their family-friendly content. But this game is one of the few Nintendo-exclusives that parents would be wary of. Known for its comical violence and depiction of blood and gore, No More Heroes 3 is not suitable for the faint-hearted.

NO MORE HEROES 3 STORY, PLACE IN THE TIMELINE

The story of NMH 3 happens two years after the spin-off title Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, which places it five years after the events of NMH 2. Twenty years prior, an alien UFO crash lands somewhere on Earth, containing an alien called FU. A young boy named Damon finds and shelters him from the authorities, and the two worked together to find a way for FU to go home. As they succeed in their plot, FU promises that he will return 20 years later and repay his gratitude towards Damon.

Years later, Damon uses alien powers he received from the crash site to become a business mogul. FU returns, but instead of a hearty reunion, the alien surprised his human friend with his intentions to conquer the Earth. Damon will now be helping FU and nine other aliens take over the world, and it's up to Travis to stop their efforts at world domination.

MUNDANE JOBS RETURN TO NO MORE HEROES AND OTHER GAMEPLAY ELEMENTS

It seems like another day in the office for Travis Touchdown, taking on opponents with his lethal beam katana. However, before he can join tournaments and take on the alien baddies, he first has to take on some odd jobs. Travis uses the money he earns from these to pay the entry fee to join these tournaments. One would think being a former top assassin of the United Assassins Association has its perks. But no, Travis has to work and earn money and pay the entry fees just like any other person.

Meanwhile, Travis' superpowers from Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes also return. With the use of his Death Glove, he can upgrade and customize his move set with new armor and weapons. Expect to see absurd gameplay combined with over-the-top executions and finishers in NMH 3, pumped up to the max with the Death Glove.

RETURNING CHARACTERS IN NO MORE HEROES 3

Of course, the drama in No More Heroes is only as good as its characters. The colorful cast in the previous two games made them even better. It's comforting to know that many of the beloved cast are returning in this new game.

No More Heroes producer Goichi “SUDA51” Suda tweeted a graphic for the voice acting cast for NMH 3. From this, we can see that aside from Travis, Sylvia, Shinobu, and Badgirl are making a comeback. Meanwhile, two new characters we haven't seen before also make their first appearance. The first is Travis's twin brother, Henry, who is also his rival. The other is a Mr. Blackhole, a character that looks like an alien, and will probably play a prominent role in the story.
