DeMarcus Cousins has enjoyed a solid stint for the Denver Nuggets, having featured in eight games for the team while playing on a 10-day contract. Having reunited with head coach Mike Malone, Cousins is fitting into his role in Denver nicely. The Nuggets are clearly pleased with what they've seen from the big man, as upon the expiration of his 10-day contract, the team signed him to a guaranteed deal that will run for the rest of the 2021-22 season, per Shams Charania.

Across his eight games with the Nuggets, Cousins has recorded averages of 6.1 points and 6.3 rebounds. He's struggled shooting the ball, recording just a 29.4 field goal percentage on 6.4 attempts per game, but that figure should balance out as he gets more playing time under his belt.

Earlier in the season, Cousins had two 10-day contracts with the Milwaukee Bucks, appearing in a total of 17 games for the defending NBA champions. In Milwaukee, Cousins averaged 9.1 points and 5.8 rebounds but was never offered a third 10-day deal.

The Nuggets have been the beneficiary of that decision from the Bucks, and they've seen enough to lock down Cousins for the rest of the season, despite his shooting woes.

It's not difficult to forget that just a few years ago, Cousins was a perennial All-Star and one of the best big men in all of basketball. Injuries have taken their toll on the 31-year-old, but he's still more than capable of playing a meaningful role off the bench, as he's proven throughout the 2021-22 season.
