The Denver Nuggets cruised to a 119-107 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in their season-opening contest, and it's clear that fans enjoyed getting another victory over the Lakers after sweeping them in the Western Conference Finals. Late in the game, fans broke out in a “Who's your daddy” chant, which sparked a hilarious interaction between Jamal Murray and Michael Malone.

Murray had a solid opening outing for the Nuggets (21 PTS, 6 AST, 2 REB, 8/13 FGM), helping his team coast to a nice win to kick off their new campaign. Murray quickly heard the “Who's your daddy” chant from Nuggets fans late in the game, and he had an awesome reaction to it before quickly blaming Malone for the existence of the chant.

The Nuggets series with the Lakers in the WCF last season was fairly heated, and there was a lot of trash-talk between the two sides throughout the offseason. During Denver's championship parade, Malone was labeled as the Lakers “daddy” by Altitude Sports host Vic Lombardi, which caught the attention of Lakers coach Darvin Ham, who was not a fan of Malone getting that label.

Ham made it clear that the Lakers were going to take that personally, but with the game in hand, Nuggets fans made sure Ham ate his words with this chant. Jamal Murray was pretty shocked by it, and quickly placed the blame for the chant on Michael Malone, even though he never really said anything on this matter. The Lakers and Ham surely won't be happy with this chant, and it will be interesting to see if they can finally beat the Nuggets the next time they place them this season.
