Kenneth Faried was traded from the Denver Nuggets to the Brooklyn Nets, as Denver tried to shred some salary for luxury tax purposes.

Faried spent his first seven years in the league with the Nuggets and was a fan favorite because of his high-flying dunks and his endless motor. Faried took to Instagram to thank the Nuggets organization and all the fans who supported him during his time in the Mile High City.

“Didn’t think I would be here as a rookie, but, my 7 years as a Denver Nugget has come to an end. I truly appreciate everyone who has crossed my path at the Nuggets organization. From 2011 when I was drafted as the 22nd pick in Newark, NJ till now. I want to thank the owners the GMs and my teammates who believed in from day one starting as a rookie, I have learned a lot throughout this journey and have become a better player and person because of all the trials I endured. So I thank you again Denver for everything you have taught me! Brooklyn I hope y’all are ready for my arrival.”

Faried is from Newark New Jersey so this will be a homecoming of sorts for him. The Nets have made no indications that they will release him, so he should be a good rotational player.

He is also a veteran player who should be a good locker room presence for some of the young guys that the Nets have. Sometimes a fresh start is good for both sides, and that seems to be the best case here for the Nuggets and Faried.
