Although Nikola Jokic's amazing season may suggest otherwise, he can't do it all alone for the Denver Nuggets. He needs help to bring them to the NBA Finals.

Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. are the stars that Jokic needs to thrive in the playoffs. While Porter Jr. is expected to return soon, the outlook for Murray isn't as promising. Although some signs point to the Nuggets' star guard being ready by the postseason, it's far from a guarantee.

According to the Denver Post's Mike Singer, the chances of a Murray return are not very high. He added that the decision to return may be in Murray's hands.

Nearly 11 months after tearing his left ACL, Murray is getting physically closer to returning, although no return is assured this season, league sources told The Denver Post.

With a month left in the regular season, two league sources described chances of his return at 50-50 at this point. Another league source emphasized the decision on when to return lies with him.

Last season, Murray averaged 21.2 points, 4.8 assists and 4.0 rebounds on career-high efficiency (47.7 percent shooting from the field and 40.8 percent from deep). His chemistry with Jokic is top-notch and a huge reason for the Nuggets' appearance in the 2020 Western Conference Finals and their emergence as a powerhoouse.

Right now, Denver is sixth in the conference with a 40-27 record. A playoff berth is likely but a deep run may be hard to come by. The returns of Murray and Porter are key to the Nuggets' late-season success.
