Nikola Jokic used the phrase “no homo” in reference to Wendell Carter Jr.'s length. It's safe to say that Jokic didn't mean to offend anyone with his comments, but he clearly didn't choose his words wisely. Fans should have no problem with the league fining Jokic for his insensitive comments.
It's nice to see the league take a stance like this, and hopefully Nikola Jokic learns from it. English is not the native Serbian's native language and it's ok to cut him some slack for that. He shouldn't get a complete pass for this language and he's not. He's being fined a hefty amount by the league.

This will take the focus away from Jokic's tremendous season for part of the news cycle, but it's impossible to ignore how incredible he has been on the court. He is one of the catalysts on a Nuggets team that is tipping the balance of power in the Western Conference.
It's unfortunate that attention is being diverted to these insensitive comments, but this can be a learning experience for Nikola Jokic as he continues to develop into a superstar.
