Being a first-time father is a rough job. Denver Nuggets star and all-around funny man Nikola Jokic is realizing that very early into his fatherhood journey.

In a media conference, Nuggets head coach Michael Malone reveals the first message Jokic sent him after the latter's wife gave birth. (via Harrison Wind)

“He sent me a picture of the newest addition to the Jokic family. And she's beautiful. It was funny, being a dad myself of two girls, he goes, ‘Coach, it's weird, I feel really tired but I didn't do anything. Natalia (Jokic's wife) did everything.'”

Anything that comes of Jokic's mouth is comedy gold, and this one is no exception. The Nuggets star has missed a significant time of the training camp to attend to his wife's birth. Despite not playing any basketball or any other strenuous activity, it seems like Jokic was still fatigued after that ordeal. Even though, as he himself admits, he didn't do anything.

Malone was quick to point out to Jokicthat he did in fact do something to help his wife, and that it really is an emotionally draining experience. He ends the quote by saying that just because of who he is, the Nuggets star would be a great dad.

Hopefully, the newest member of the family will motivate Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets. The reigning MVP has a lot to prove this season, first of which is bringing the Nuggets to the NBA Finals. He's already made significant changes to his routine, such as prioritizing his health and rest over everything. Now, more than ever, that rest will be invaluable to Jokic.
