The Denver Nuggets began their preseason schedule on Saturday night against the Golden State Warriors and some players were impressed with one player in particular. Despite losing the game, Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray were dazzled by rookie Facundo Campazzo.

“I’m just sad that there’s no fans,” Jokic said, via the Denver Post's Mike Singer. “He would probably be their favorite player. He makes winning plays. … He’s been around winning teams as a starter, as a bench player, as the best player. He’s been around, and he knows what you need to do.”

In addition to Jokic's post-game comments, Murray went on Twitter to give Campazzo a new nickname moving forward.

Campazzo, a 29-year-old rookie out of Argentina, played most of his professional basketball career in Europe. Therefore, even though he's an older rookie, he has experience in playing in big games.

Throughout training camp, members of the Nuggets have raved about Campazzo and his ability to create on both sides of the floor. On Saturday night against the Warriors, Campazzo finished with eight points, three assists, and a steal while Denver nearly made an impressive comeback.

Seeing that the Nuggets re-signed Monte Morris, it remains to be seen how many minutes will be available for Campazzo. Not to mention, PJ Dozier and rookie R.J. Hampton are expected to command roles off of the bench as well.

Similar to recent seasons, Denver is looking as if they are going to be a deep team once again under Mike Malone. And while they have an array of talent, Jokic and Murray are excited to see what Campazzo can bring to the organization.
