Nikola Jokic's carry job this seasonhas taken the NBA world by storm. More and more people are starting to realize the grim reality that without their Serbian behemoth, the Denver Nuggets wouldn't even sniff the play-in tournament. His masterful playmaking and scoring is the only thing keeping the team afloat at this point.

While it's obviously great for his personal statistics, Nuggets fans want their star to earn a little bit of rest. Many point to Jamal Murray coming back as the solution for their problems, but Nikola Jokic himself warned of the dangers of rushing back the point guard too soon. (via Mike Singer)

“I told Jamal, if you're not 100% ready, don't come back. It's stupid.”

Nuggets fans are not happy with how Murray's injury has been handled so far. Aside from the lack of information, the fact that no sign of progress has been seen is a bit worrying. Despite that, though, fans certainly want him back in any capacity to help out Jokic.

As Jokic himself points out, though, coming back from an injury while not being at 100% is “stupid”. The Nuggets risk aggravating Murray's injury and making it worse by rushing him back to the court. Besides, we all saw what happened to Kevin Durant when he tried coming back too soon from his leg injury in 2019. It's just not advisable for both parties to rush Murray's return.

Without Murray, the Nuggets need to find someone else to fill the hole left by the dynamic point guard. At the very least, they need someone to be able to keep the team running when Jokic rests.
